Enterprise Zone

Gateshead's Enterprise Zone represents a unique opportunity for business expansion and relocation. With an economy worth over £14.8 billion (GVA), a population of over 200,000 and a regional workforce of 1.5 million it's easy to see how.
The site lies immediately south of Follingsby Park, which has already delivered 97,702m² of industrial accommodation. It has excellent access to the strategic road network, with direct access to the A194(M) which connects the A19 and A1(M).
It benefits from a package of incentives to stimulate investment, attract businesses and create new jobs. Businesses locating on the site will enjoy reduced business rates worth up to £275,000. As well as training, recruitment and workforce development initiatives.
Spanning 22 hectares, Follingsby South can bring forward a further 90,000m² of development. It's designated for distribution, logistics and manufacturing use, to support the region's growth in key sectors. All in all, cementing its position as the premier industrial park in the North East.
"Our modern Industrial Strategy is about creating the right environment for businesses to grow - Enterprise Zones are making sure this happens across the country. This is a key part of our 'Plan for Britain', creating a stronger economy that works for everyone. These new Enterprise Zones will help even more businesses to set up and grow."
Andrew Percy, Local Growth Minister
