Two Gateshead companies out of a total of five in the North East have been named in Creative England's top 50 most creative firms in the country.

Two Gateshead companies out of a total of five in the North East have been named in Creative England's top 50 most creative firms in the country.
Councillor John Adams, Cabinet member for the Economy thinks this is no coincidence and says: "We're extremely proud of Atomhawk and MADDigital. We're right behind them and the creative digital community in Gateshead.
"Gateshead offers an excellent environment for digitally driven companies wanting to make a big impact in global markets. The cluster that's quietly formed at Baltic Quarter, next to Gateshead Quays, enables collaboration, knowledge-sharing and commercialisation of ideas between tenants, partners and educational institutions.
"As tech evolves, so will the cluster and we hope to see the sectors continue to grow, with more start-ups, scale ups and new job creations. It'll be exciting to see the benefit PROTO: The Emerging Technology Centre makes when it opens in July.
"PROTO will offer high quality office accommodation as well as a state-of-the-art R&D facility allowing the sector access to the latest XR kit. Helping them to develop content, products and services supporting non-digital businesses to innovate.
This is a really exciting chapter for us, so we're keen to spread the word!"
