Global software firm moves across Tyne to Gateshead Quays

Gateshead has welcomed another new occupier to Baltic Place at Gateshead Quays. Software firm Engica has taken 7,500 sq ft in the East Tower having agreed a 10 year lease. 

Engica, which leads the market in developing software to a wide range of industries, such as manufacturing, power generation, chemical and transport, has relocated its head office based staff to Baltic Place and hopes to create many more jobs over the next 12 months.

Peter Strassheim, Managing Director at Engica commented: "The financial year 2016/17 has proved to be extremely positive for Engica. Fueled by significant contract awards from UK and overseas clients, Engica's ongoing expansion plans meant that we needed to look for larger premises.

"The new office at Baltic Place in Gateshead not only provided a very professional office space but also has a fantastic outlook across the River Tyne which provides an excellent working environment with great transport links for both staff and customers. Working closely with a number of local businesses, including Gateshead Council, we managed to agree an overall package which provided a cost effective increase in space which was 50% larger than our previous office in Newcastle - creating room for planned growth.

"Following a smooth transition into the new office and following further contract awards we are now advertising for more staff."

Baltic Place is situated on the bank of the River Tyne and provides 131,000sq ft of flexible Grade A BREEAM Excellent office accommodation.  This latest deal follows a 19,000 sq ft letting to the rapidly expanding Northern Gas & Power, with a limited number of offices remaining
